Brilliant! I'll give that a try. I don't know why using the menu never occurred to me.
ISeemToBeAVerbMemberThought I'd add an example of what I'm trying to achieve...
So here is the Copyblogger homepage. Notice how each section has a unique background that spans the whole width of the browser. That's what I want to do.
I had my page 95% The way I wanted it, but I didn't know how to get the backgrounds to expand beyond the content wrapper. I know I could use a single image, but then I'd have to change it every time I wanted to modify the layout.

I've been making good progress using the method I outlined above, but I'm always looking for more info.
June 20, 2013 at 8:49 pm in reply to: How To Make Landing Pages Like Studiopress & Copyblogger?? #46994ISeemToBeAVerbMemberI thought I'd take a stab at figuring this out, so here's my newbie hypothesis using the Genesis Sales Page as an example.
Perhaps a more experienced developer could chime in and let me know if I'm even remotely close to figuring out how this is actually done.
So here's what I was thinking...
The entire landing page is a standard WordPress Page with all but the header and footer removed.
The actual landing page content consists of two parts:
01. A custom background graphic (used for the main image, dividers and arrows)
02. Text/images formatted using the standard WordPress Post/Page Editor.
Each section is formatted using a standard title tag and the Genesis column classes.
So you have a series of two column layouts that alternate between text left and image left. At the end of each section you have a button aligned center.
At the very bottom, before the footer, you have a title and three column layout.
As for the circle of links in the main graphic, I have no clue.
Anyhow, that's my hypothesis.
I'd love to hear any comments. Not sure if I'm even in the right ballpark.
Thanks,

I'm familiar with Premise, but it seems more geared toward making traditional, copy-heavy landing pages. I'm specifically referring to the short-copy, graphic-heavy landing pages like I linked to in my examples.
If they are using Premise for their landing pages, I'd love to know how. The examples shown in the Premise demo look nothing like the landing pages on Copyblogger & Studiopress.
