    Omg, I think I am starting to understand it. I need to keep the Site Title, but somehow I need to find a way to make it invisible that way the site title is there but it is not on top of the header.

    If I remove this CSS it removes the header image. I would like to keep the image and make it clickable. My guess is I need to add something to both the functions.php and the style.css for this to work.

    I see what you are saying, but it doesn't help me solve the problem. And it could be that I am just not understanding how it all works and missing an important step. I have done exactly what you recommended, which is add the new header image using the Custom Header function. What you show above is absolutely true, but as a novice to this I am not getting the message across.

    Look I am really sorry, it's like a brand new language so bare with me. From what you can tell, do you have a tip as to how I can fix the actual problem? "Your image has not been added this way and has been added using CSS which is why it isn’t linking". If this is the case, is there a way to fix it or is this is a much bigger issues?

    Hmm that's interesting. As I've said above, I did add the image using the Custom Header function under Appearance in my dashboard. I did not use CSS to add it. I simply went to Appearance tab and done it that way. If I am using the Custom Header, and the problem persists then what could it be?

    Hi Brad,

    I am sorry, but I don't find your answer helpful. If that is not how I add a new header, meaning if I am not meant to use the custom header functions to add a customized header, how do I approach this? I recognize that the above is the url link for the image but I am not connecting the dots.

    Hi,

    I am not even sure what it means "add it using CSS" that's how hopeless I am, but what I can tell you is that I went to appearance-->header-->select image then browse and upload-->save changes and bam image is up but not clickable. So, I am guessing I was using the Custom Header function, but how do you link it with the URL?

    This is the bit where I can change the header image size in functions.php, but it doesn't inlcude the URL bit

    // Add support for custom header
    add_theme_support( 'genesis-custom-header', array(
    'flex-height' => true,
    'height' => 250,
    'width' => 980
    ) );

    Any thoughts?

    Thank you..

    I stumbled across your post as I was looking for info on pretty pictures theme and I noticed that you had a really gorgeous look for the header. Would you be willing to share what program or how you went about creating your header (e.g., how you added the books and the bird)?

    Hi everyone,

    I am a little hesitant about attempting this especially after reading that if you are using a child theme (which I believe I am) a code will not work unless another function called remove_filter () is performed. For now, I might have to leave it as is untill I am comfortable with making changes and adding codes to functions.php.

    I followed your instructions and bam the space between my posts decreased; however, this also lead to a drastic decrease in my header. So, I decreased the padding from 8% to 5% to retain a bit more of my header. To be specific, the width of the header didn't change but the height (not sure if this is the right term) went from being the highlight of the front page to looking more like a banner. If you happen to have any suggestions for how I can change header size after decreasing the padding between posts, it would be greatly appreciated.

    Again thank you!
