Hello MavFanRy,
Last night I upgraded my website to Genesis using the Genesis SEO as well. I had a maintenance mode turned on while I was doing the upgrade. When I made my site live again, I also noticed that the changes to my home page SEO were not reading correctly in the search engines (I was using google search engine). I also noticed that my traffic had stopped recording in my Google Analytics as my meta description on my home page was still stating that I was still in 'Maintenance Mode' so obviously my website was cached by google during my maintenance.
This is what I did to fix the problem.
- login into Google Webmaster Tools and resubmitted my sitemap
- I did a google 'fetch' for my homepage in google webmaster tools
- I then used a 'ping tool', there are many free & paid pinging tools available (I used http://pingoat.net) to ping the search engines to let them know that I was no longer in maintenance mode.
my outcome - within 15 minutes of doing this my SEO on my home page was showing correctly in Google search engine, my meta description now showed my correct meta description (rather than the maintenance mode description), and lastly my google analytics traffic was now showing search results again. So I my website was able to be visible again to the search engines.
Give it a try - it may work for you. Good Luck, KarenNote - if you website is really new - it can take a few months to be noticed by the search engines
