dareadelParticipant
It's working now. I changed to a different Amazon link and also different hook. I am using the Amazon link in the "after-comment" hook and the Amazon ad is displaying on all pages just as I want.
dareadelParticipantThank you Brad. I use widgets but I was hoping to take the advantage of the simple hook features.
dareadelParticipantSite restore option will be the best if your host has that feature. If your site is backed up often, you can restore from the day before you made the mistake. My other option is to delete the theme and do a fresh installation and follow the install directions. To my understanding, you will not lose your database content.
Ask your host to be sure. But if I am in your position, I will simply activate the WordPress theme or another theme, delete both the outreach child theme and Genesis them and do a fresh install. I am very sure the WordPress theme or any other "place holder" theme will preserve your database content.
dareadelParticipantOne more thing. At one point in the last week I used the changed the Debug code in the config.php to "true" and I have since changed it back to "false"
dareadelParticipantThanks again Tom. I put the event plugin in the sub footer as a temporary measure so visitors can still get the event information.
It happened about a week ago and I have uninstalled all the updates plugins except the event plugin. However, I have disabled the event plugin once to see if tut helps but no luck. So I am not sure what else happened.
dareadelParticipantYou are exactly right Tom and that's the mystery so far. There are contents in the widget but unfortunately I cannot figure out why it's not showing up in the CSS.
There are all-in-one-event plugin and text widgets which are not displaying. They have been working fine for the past one year and suddenly disappeared. I have disabled plugins via the server side and then reinstalled. I have deleted several widgets but no luck so far.
My last option might be to switch to another brand theme perhaps it could help.
dareadelParticipantThank you Tom for taking the time to reply and for pointing out the possible slider conflict. Here is a screenshot of the slider setting you were asking:
dareadelParticipantHelp, anyone?
dareadelParticipantI found an error via Mac's inspect element that says "Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 (Not Found)" including a link http://ancd.org/wp-content/themes/genesis/lib/js/menu/superfish.min.map
dareadelParticipantThank you Susan for taking time to reply. I think it's too late. I decided switch to another plugin. Clearly I am frustrated at the level of support here, or lack of it. It's been disappointing knowing that you are not using a free theme.
Anyway, thank you very much.
dareadelParticipantFantastic! Thank you Sridhar this is exactly what I am looking for. I will apply and I will comment on your blog if I have additional questions. Thanks again.
dareadelParticipantThank you Sridhar. That's not what I am looking for. I would like to make the width of the slider shorter so I can have another widget to the right or left of a reduced slider.
dareadelParticipantHello somebody. If this is not possible, any suggested better slider for Genesis
dareadelParticipantThanks for your assistance. I did that before but the text overlapped the image on tablet and mobile views. I tried to style them with z-index but did not work. I added a positive z-index value for image div and also tried a negative z-index value for text .wrap but non works.
dareadelParticipant@RobG Thanks for the footer credit code. This is what I was looking for. But I am just curious to know why the <?php tag is needed at the end. When I removed it the code did not work but I thought <?php tag is only needed at the beginning of a code block. Just for my understanding. Thanks.
dareadelParticipantInteresting. Could be frustrating trying to navigate through the codes. Glad you resolved it and have a good weekend.
dareadelParticipantJust my 2 cents here. YOu may want to try and remove or adjust the percent with under this media query. I had an opposite issue to what you want and the fix was to adjust the home widgets. A 100% setting will stack everything under 600px width.
So I will change:
@media only screen and (max-width: 600px) {.home-1,
.home-2,
.home-3,
.home-4 {
padding: 10px;
width: 100%;
}to
@media only screen and (max-width: 600px) {.home-1,
.home-2,
.home-3,
.home-4 {
padding: 10px;
width: 45%;
}Or perhaps remove the CSS for media query @media only screen and (max-width: 600px) and everything under it.
Hope I am making sense.
dareadelParticipantJust followed Tony's instructions and with a bit of other manipulations and additional media queries I was able to get the right tablet display. I now have 2-column home widgets for tablets and a vertically stacked mobile display.
I appreciate all the helps.
dareadelParticipantYes. I'll try it later tonight. Thanks again Tony.
Thanks also Pat. I tried reducing but never work. I believe Tony's solution will work.
dareadelParticipantThank you @the simpler web. I understand what you say and I am using 45px for the tablet widgets. I was using 50% which appears to be too wide and I had to reduce them to 45%.
