MemberOkay, so maybe the correct question is: In which file do I place the Google site verification tag?

MemberChristoph, you're getting different results. Check this out:

MemberThanks, Christoph --
The Screen Options pulldown at the top of a screen affects the way the current screen is displayed, not the options for a particular post/page from what I've seen. I did play with this originally thinking I'd found the magic solution, but no go. In other words, the choices in the Screen Options menu do not save with the page or post, merely the display used while creating the item.

MemberThanks for the reply, William.
It doesn't "really" work. I can remove the Comment on Posts or Comment on Pages using the Genesis settings. But that's not what I want to do. Some pages can include comments and some cannot. All posts can include comments.
What would be most helpful would be a template choice where one could check either enable or disable comments. Some posts should get comments and some should not. Similarly, some pages could get comments and come should not. I'm not a fan of the all or nothing sort of settings.
I can rearrange things a slight bit to make this work, but it's not really a solution over the long run.

MemberSo ... the reason I didn't originally install the additional Genesis plugins is that WordPress reports that they are "untested with your current version of WordPress." Since I'm using the newest versions of WordPress almost always, it seems counter intuitive to install stuff that may not work or that may cause additional issues.
Also, I did search the forums for "disclaimer" prior to writing the previous post and didn't come across the post you suggested. Sorry!
Finally, the disclaimer area of the theme setup does not actually affect the current disclaimer lines ... it adds a disclaimer below the existing copyright stuffs. The theme widget locations indicate that the "footer" is above the disclaimer as well and uses fonts and layouts that are not within the setup for which I'm striving.
Back to my last question, however:
"In the Element Inspector, is there a place where I can actually see the full name of the file/theme, etc. wherein the data is stored?"
When working with the Element Inspector, I can see that when you click on various code lines or areas of the page, different guidelines appear illustrating where the various effect is occurring. But sometimes those guidelines don't actually surround the correct or needed area, such as identifying the background or full-width box.
As an example, in my site, I've used the AgentPress Listings Plugin as a placeholder for an alternate IDX search subscription. I was trying to determine "how" the Listings Plugin assigns the full width background to itself, hoping to see it using the Element Inspector. I haven't figured that out yet as the Element Inspector doesn't identify the wrap of just that form. It identifies the full wrap of the widget area, not the plugin. (Hope that makes sense.) My thought was that I'd put the two Mega Menus into the Home-Featured area so that scrolling the site appeared in front of the top background image. But when I attempt to do so, rather than being able to use a full-width menu which is possible with that plugin, the area goes to a transparent white background. Hence my foray into the Element Inspector.
Thanks for your help. I do truly appreciate it. Apparently I need to learn to search the forums in a different way in order to find the responses I need. I'm sorry to have asked questions that, apparently, were previously answered!!

MemberAHA! Finally figured out that daggone blank box. I "think" I have that worked out.
Now if I could just figure out where to modify the disclaimer stuff at the bottom, I'd be on to the next challenge ...

MemberThanks for that info, Tom. I've used the Element Inspector a couple of times, but only to find simple things like font size changes, as shown in the video demo.
The challenge I seem to be facing, for example, is that much of this seems to be related to Genesis itself, and not necessarily the individual theme. So, in my neophyte method of learning, I can't quite figure out the right place to edit.
For example, I want to change the text where Copyright info sits. I can see it in the Element Inspector, but I can't find the text itself when searching through any of the style sheets. I can see how to add disclaimer text "below" this line ... but it needs to be above this default stuff. And not in the Footer areas as that's not right either.
Another example ... in the theme, there's this funny white "box" at the lower left edge of the page. It's identified in the Element Inspector as .full-width .featuredpage ... but that describes the size of the box, not the actual element. How do I get rid of it?
In the Element Inspector, is there a place where I can actually see the full name of the file/theme, etc. wherein the data is stored?

MemberJackie, I'm an idiot. Forgive me ... I was looking at the wrong page entirely ... long day ..............................
Now on to the menu problem ...

MemberOh DUH!!! I've been trying to find this link on the widget page rather than on the page to which the widget points. No wonder I can't find it. My brain just didn't think of the obvious.
Thank you! And please pardon my stupidity ....
<sigh> ...Does anyone know hot to link these images to a drop-down menu? ... So when someone clicks on the image a menu appears rather than going to a page?

MemberSo I'm a little confused. I just received an email message through the forum with a reply from you that isn't anything like the reply just above with the example.
Where I hesitated on this previously is that the css is prefaced with .full-width .featuredpage I assumed that .full-width meant that the item was "full width" of the page.
Thanks for your input. I know you guys that truly know what you're looking for in these files are sick to death of these basic questions, but, you see, the result of us novices have to learn somewhere and rely on your knowledge to help us understand code sections in these themes.
Now then ... I need to figure out what sections to modify to make these items display a designated image rather than a bland rectangle ... and then figure out how to make a menu (is that the term I want?) appear when the image is clicked or hovered. Any additional feedback or suggests you may have is gratefully received!

MemberThanks for the quick response, Brad. I actually have read the setup guide extensively and worked through most of it. However, the featured page widgets, as instructed, do not space evenly across the screen. They stack to the left. I expect that's because the featured page widgets are meant to be 4 across rather than 3. They won't center. And yes, I have installed the AgentPress Listings plugin widget.
Having worked with a few different sites, I do find that the StudioPress themes are convoluted and generally don't respond as expected. I'm not an expert coder, however I do know how to dink around with various editors. I'm just incredibly rusty and don't really have the desire to get too deeply into this.
Example: I attempted to use the AgentPress Listings/Search widget. One shoudl be able to easily add taxonomies and have them appear in the widget as checkboxes. However, that doesn't work. The only option is ONE button with "Search Properties." There's no taxonomy choice. And yes, I did go in and add them. Looking at the setup guide shows that the list of taxonomies should be in the customize area of the widget. No it doesn't. There's not a list.

MemberDone! And I'll take a look at your donation site as well. I "know" I'm going to need more hand-holding with this. It's been years since I first developed my site. I'm more than a little rusty!. Thanks again!

MemberAHA! I did not. I don't know if I missed that instruction in your comment, or it wasn't there.
Anyway, that's exactly what I needed and I do apologize for having missed your helpful reply. Thank you!

MemberJohann, I appreciate the help, but that doesn't work. Changing the min-height changes the entire header "banner," not just the image itself. I want the banner to remain at 80px. I want only the image height to change to 148px. Somehow I need to separate the image from the header, but can't figure out how to do that.
