    Hi Victor,

    Thank you for the info you provided. I was able to work with it and accomplish my goal.

    I removed the flexible-widgets class as you suggested, then added a "container" div to the "front-page-2" widget area, to hold 4 widgets. I styled that using CSS Grid, which is new to me. Thanks to Brad Dalton's widget columns tutorial for helping me with that process!

    I'll post a link when the site is done.

    Thanks grahamw... for confirming my assumption and clarifying.

    So, I can assume that if we see a sidebar with functional things in it (i.e., widgets!) in a theme, it is indeed "widget ready", is that right? Sorry if I'm being so obvious but I just want to make sure I understand. The theme FAQs include info about how to register widget areas...assuming that some themes are not widget-ready?

    I did see the footer widget area mentioned on LIfestyle but wondered if they weren't mentioned as being in the sidebar if they were actually not made "ready" there...
