Thank you for your answer Christoph,
And thanks a lot for two good guides on specificity. I think I have to go a bit deeper into them.

Otherwise it would be very interesting to hear developers habits with HTML-ads. Do you use iFrames? How do you deal with responsiveness for Ads? Or do you simply make an image of the Ad to make tha task easy? Or is is only AdSense that counts?

I guess nothing happens when you sit and watch it because the browser has to be updated before changes on the web server will be discovered. The first time I saw it I thought that the webmaster had messed with the menu. The second time the webmaster did discover it and I got an angry e-mail where he wondered what i was doing. But I hadn´t done anything to the website during the weekend and I trust him when he said that he only updated a few Pages/Posts but didn´t put his hands on the menues at all.

Nothing obvious happens in front of my eyes when checking different pages.

Both of us were just browsing to a page on the website, and it became clear that something had happened to the top menu. And this has happened twice the last few days.

I get the feeling that a script is going berserk. But I don´t know if it is possible at all.

To be clear, we only add menues manually by creating them in the menu-editor and then we draw them to the right place regarding the order and hierarchy for the actual menu-object.

Right, that box is unchecked in the menu-editor. Don´t know if there could be some settings somewhere that will override this.

    You´re welcome.

Most of this I have learned by reading free emails from a guy named Perry Marshall. I have a very good book from him on AdWords advertising.  I hope we would have a such guy here in Sweden. He is also good at explaining how to use autoresponders. I have followed his emails for some years now. It has been like a free training course. He is well expressed and a good writer, so I recommend you to at least join some of his short and free e-mail courses. I think they will give you a lot.

Here he explains the Maze idea built with an autoresponder which is closely related to landing pages. But don´t get trapped ;-).

    8 minute video: http://www.perrymarshall.com/autoresponders/building-the-maze/
    His homepage:  http://www.perrymarshall.com/

Start with simple solutions and elaborate later on.  When you begin to achieve results from your efforts you get the idea and you get new insights on how to develop your business.

Enjoy new insights! Even if it is a lot of struggling it also is a lot of fun when you see the outcome.

    Podgor,

May I comment the purpose of the landing page. You say that people need to reflect and come back later on, when they have decided or made up their minds on how to deal with you. Are you shure they will choose YOU then? Isn´t there any competition in your field? Try instead to keep in touch with all visitors by giving them a good offer.

The idea with the landing page is to directly make a connection with the visitor. If you feel they need more information than you can give them on the landing page, then it is a good idea to make PDF-file or DOC-file they can get. IF they will give you their contact information THEN you automatically bring them useful info by an email or by guiding them to a download-page. They pay for the information they need with their email address and you can keep in touch with them. Your offer on the landing page has to be closely related to the services you are giving.

If Premise have an Autoresponder system you may use it to build up a series of e-mails that you can send to those that have responded. You can then keep in touch and help the clients or advice them. Maybe a small course could be a good helper for them. Divide it up in some emails that you send with some time in between each.
MailChimp.com has such services and it can be built into Genesis.

Landing pages should be carefully seo-optimised in order to get free traffic. And they should be carefully tested to get visitors to join your list. You should not make only one landing-page but a few. All with a different twist in the text, colors, images and so on. Then make a careful follow up and delete those that do not convert (make new contacts), and fine-tune those that work well.

With well optimized landing pages and a autoresponder system you can build a cashier. With a landing page that will send away visitors you will leave the money on the table. That is the main reason for not having a navigation menu on the landing page.

Thank you Susan for a rapid answer.

This is really strange, as you wrote this I did a check on another computer and it worked as expected.

However, in Chrome on my laptop I am still directed to Hostgator.com. Both when I try the address directly in the browser as well as when I use the Studiopress blog and click on the link to the Epik demo site, then I am also redirected to Hostgator.com  (http://appfinite.com/cgi-sys/suspendedpage.cgi). That is happening in all browsers on this computer.

Norton has continously been active but I started a search now to try to sort it out.

    Thanks for a prompt answer.

    Problem solved.

The client contacted his web host and they looked into the problem and they found a solution.

They reported it was caused by an update of their security system for the firewall. It is named:

Juniper Intrusion Detection and Prevention (IDP)

So if someone in the future will be prevented to add images to posts then maybe changes in the web server could be the cause.

Thanks for your answers and suggestions!

OK, yes that might be an option. I have not tried it, because this is my clients problem that have to add content. He is not very used to work with code, so it would be a bit of a struggle. I will ask him to try that option and report the outcome later.

However, it makes me a bit confused that basic scripts end up working. I can´t even say if it is a WP-problem or something related to Genesis or the Executive Theme.

Maybe I also have to say that, what is described above, is the situation since a few days. Earlier everything worked as expected. But we are not aware of any changes that might prevent insertion of images.

Sorry if I was unclear. The images are already imported into the Media library. But when placing the cursor within the text of a Post in order to insert an image to the Post nothing happens after I have pressed the Add Media-button. No code will be added för the image. The image is just omitted. We have tried with different images in the Media Library and with different file formats, without success. Images will not be inserted.

I would assume that you may have accidentally moved the style.css or made changes in it, that might not be correct, so it can´t be read.

    Thanks Dave for commenting!

You know what… I’m thinking your client is probably just like them… engineers, right?

He, he, that´s right. They are.

Well, it could be a fix idea, but he also has a point in that they want to make the indexing figures (like 3.3.1) a part of the printed page in order to make communication easier, even for persons that are not aquainted with the stuff they have to use. An indexing system will also make it easier to give support. But I will also examine and see if this indexing could be part of the breadcrumbs instead. Now, I also have begun thinking of a special structure on the headlines, maybe beginning with the index. So there might be many options.

When it comes to PDF:s we do already have them, but the client´s clients ask for a digital version for different screens. This discussion came because of that PDF:s are a bit rigid on small devices. I have a long background with QuarkXpress a software for layout, primarily for printed matter but now also for Pads and Smartphones. However, QuarkXpress can deliver Kindle documents, iOS apps and some more digital formats. But these documents are dependent on a certain OS or plugins to work. Therefore I began thinking in terms of a responsive web site.

The client do appreciate my thoughts as they then can update one single source for delivery on different platforms. They must not ask me to do job in QuarkXpress any more if they get a solution that will meet their demands.

Dave, I appreciate your suggestions as they help me think on many different options.

Thank you for your comments Brad. I will try to apply your advice to the site.

I can give you full acess to the site if you write me in private to: donatcomartdotse

However, the Slider did show up once on the homepage in Firefox and disappeared again
later without any changes. That made me suspect Firefox. Maybe some add-ons could
interfere here. So I checked in Opera and it worked.
I guess now that I have been fooled a bit by Firefox. Ought to have checked in other
    browsers as well.

So now it works in Explorer, Chrome, Safari and Opera and somehow in Firefox.
    Sorry for my confusion.

Sorry, but I am more confused now. There have been stuff in the widgets Home-Slider, Home-Top, Home-Call to Action and Home-Middle all the time. But nothing of this will show up if I choose "Your latest Posts" (freely translated from Swedish). But if I choose a Static page and then the Homepage plus the Blog page the Slider will show up on the Blog page. But never on the Homepage.  If I leave the Blog-page empty and only have it set to Homepage the the Slider will not show up at all, nowhere.

For the type of Content I have choosen Posts in the Slider Settings (menu Genesis >) As I would like to show Posts in the Slider on the Homepage.

Could you please elaborate a little more on this so cause and effect might be more obvious to me?

    Thank you for your advice.

However I made changes in the Reading Settings but it did only work if I choose the Blog.
In that case the Slider showed up. But I would prefere to have a static page instead. I created
a new page and added only a headline, nothing more.

Then I chose that page as a static  homepage, and the blog page for the posts. I expected that
the Slider would show up on the homepage, but not. I have looked through all my settings
and I have also changed to other pages in the settings but still the Slider don't show up in the right
place. It  will stay on the blog page even if it not was choosen as the static homepage.

As I understand it, I shall choose both a Homepage and a Blogpage to get it working (because the
other option is only the Blogpage). But the Slider still stays at the Blog-page..

    Any suggestions?
