Import of images into Posts is neglected

HI,

My client called me after trying to add images to posts in the Executive Child Theme because the system omitted his imported images.

I tried to add an image myself as well without any luck. In HTML-mode no code was added where the expected image-code should be. I have not met this before. What might be the reason for this behaviour?

It relates to WP 3.5.1 and the Executive theme.

Anyone with the same experience or any suggestions?

Can you elaborate more on what you mean by "importing" images. Importing them from where?

Sorry if I was unclear. The images are already imported into the Media library. But when placing the cursor within the text of a Post in order to insert an image to the Post nothing happens after I have pressed the Add Media-button. No code will be added för the image. The image is just omitted. We have tried with different images in the Media Library and with different file formats, without success. Images will not be inserted.

Maybe I also have to say that, what is described above, is the situation since a few days. Earlier everything worked as expected. But we are not aware of any changes that might prevent insertion of images.

If the images are in the media library, did you try manually referencing one in the HTML editor using an img src tag?

OK, yes that might be an option. I have not tried it, because this is my clients problem that have to add content. He is not very used to work with code, so it would be a bit of a struggle. I will ask him to try that option and report the outcome later.

However, it makes me a bit confused that basic scripts end up working. I can´t even say if it is a WP-problem or something related to Genesis or the Executive Theme.

Problem solved.

The client contacted his web host and they looked into the problem and they found a solution.

They reported it was caused by an update of their security system for the firewall. It is named:

Juniper Intrusion Detection and Prevention (IDP)

So if someone in the future will be prevented to add images to posts then maybe changes in the web server could be the cause.

Glad you got it solved! It's crazy that a firewall thing would be the cause so it's good to know about that, too.
