Issue has been resolved. The issue was with this theme the header "position" is "fixed" so it was throwing off the coding. After I removed the conflicting CSS from the ".site-header" selector everything worked correctly. Thanks.
btwebmediaParticipantHello:
I've tried to add a new widget area above the top navigation so I can add social media buttons. All of the tutorials that have been suggested have not worked. The "genesis_before_header" tutorial added the widget beneath the header and navigation area.
Here's a link to the temporary location of the website - http://btwebmedia.com/sidney/
Once again any help is appreciated. Thanks.
btwebmediaParticipantThanks Victor. Also I found this link that was very helpful - http://briangardner.com/add-widget-area-site-header/
btwebmediaParticipantDoug I removed the extra <span> tag, but still no success. It's as if the tag isn't allowed in that area for some reason.
btwebmediaParticipantHere's the code below. When placed in the Simple Edits for the footer both the image and text used in the links are not visible. When I place the same code inside a page it works correctly.
<div class="facebook"> <p> <span class="social-heading"> CONNECT WITH GOLDEN WILLOW RETRIEVERS ON SOCIAL MEDIA </span> <a href="#"><img src="/golden/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/facebook.png" alt="Facebook" /></a> <a href="#">Facebook</a> </span> </p> </div> <div class="copy"> <p> © 2016 Golden Willow Retrievers </p> </div>
btwebmediaParticipantDoug that is exactly what has been done, but still not working. It seems as if the tag isn't allowed.
btwebmediaParticipantThanks. Your suggestion worked like a charm!
