Thanks for the quick response. It sounds like we are on the same page as far as what I'm trying to do. I should have mentioned something else in the original post. The blog page that I want to show NO content is on my home page as a featured page. If I delete the content from that page the featured page section on my homepage shows up blank. I tried to just use an excerpt instead but it didn't work. Do you have any other ideas?
It's not the end of the world if the content shows on both blog pages (I would rather have that than a blank featured page on the home page) but if it's not too complex I would like to change it.

After looking at the executive theme, it may be a better option. I don't want a homepage slider but I'm guessing I could just use the homepage widgets and use a featured page instead of the slider. That being said, I still wouldn't mind that area being a little smaller. Is there a way to make that section smaller in the executive theme?
