Under Genesis Theme Settings
if the Content Archives is set to Display post Excerpts rtmedia plugin will not show the media upload options, if Content Archives within Genesis is set to Display Post Content with Limited Content to 0, it will display the rtmedia media upload option. If featured image is selected in the Genesis Content Archives, this will show up in the rtmedia user profile.
So now I will just leave the content artchives to display post content , 0 characters no featured image.
bgigiMemberI have contacted the developer of RTMedia plugin. They indicated this document that could assist. I am just a bit confused on if I need to indicate my Genesis theme in the below code
BuddyPress Theme Media Tab
By default, rtMedia uses the current theme's index.php template as the base template. If you want to change this to some other template or if you are using any theme based on BuddyPress default theme,and have issues with the rtMedia media tab, then you can specify a different template to be used by rtMedia.
Just put the following code in your theme's functions.php file.
function rtmedia_main_template_include($template, $new_rt_template){ global $wp_query; $wp_query->is_page = true; return get_page_template(); } add_filter('rtmedia_main_template_include', 'rtmedia_main_template_include', 20, 2);
"This will set the theme page.php template as base template for rtMedia. If you wish to make a different template for the same, just use this function locate_template('your-custom-template.php') instead of the function get_page_template() used in the above code."
Can anyone share some insight on applying this fix through Genesis. If I do change my theme to twenty fifteen the upload box shows up fine, but when selecting the Genesis them it just shows this message where the image upload box should be

Thanks again for your time and any help you can provide for this issue.
bgigiMemberHi again Annamarie
I looked at your site and tried to compare what I had with you. I see you are showing a S in your search box. I don't have anything else to add but this is the exact code I have in my genesis sample theme, functions.php and style.css, so maybe you can compare them one more time? If it does not resolve the issue I hope someone else can take a look at your specific issue, could be something else going on.
Functions.php
--Line 46
//* Enqueue Dashicons add_action( 'wp_enqueue_scripts', 'enqueue_dashicons' ); function enqueue_dashicons() { wp_enqueue_style( 'dashicons' ); }
--Line 54
//* Add Dashicon to search form button add_filter( 'genesis_search_button_text', 'wpsites_search_button_icon' ); function wpsites_search_button_icon( $text ) { return esc_attr( '' ); }
Style.css
--Line 644
/* ## Search Form --------------------------------------------- */ .search-form { overflow: hidden; position: relative; } .site-header .search-form { float: right; margin-top: 12px; } .entry-content .search-form, .site-header .search-form { width: 50%; } .search-form input[type="submit"] { content: "\f179"; display: inline-block; -webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; font: normal 24px/1 'dashicons'; vertical-align: top; background: #000; border: none; padding-left: 20px; } .search-form input[type="submit"]:hover { color: #F15123; }
bgigiMemberYes Annamarie, that did help! I positionedl all my child theme media queries and there is the magnifying glass! Thank you so much it is now working fine. I just moved these values at the bottom of the child stylesheet and put them where they are suppose to go. Now the magnifying glass is there ! Thank you all in this post for your help I really appreciate.

bgigiMemberYes Annamarie, I am quite new as well. I do not really understand the helpful information they posted about moving the code out of the media query but it is now time to learn. I will post back as soon as I find my solution. It may be awhile but I never give up. 🙂
bgigiMemberThank you Victor, The code piece in the copy and paste got messed up. It is really, "return esc_attr( '' );" , thank you! Erik D Slater, I will begin researching that as soon as I can and fix it. Thank you for taking the time to look at this problem.
bgigiMemberYes Eric D. Slater, sorry about that. The link is here, I just started the website so it is extremely in early stage right now. I just turned off maintenance mode,

Thank you so much for the response. You can see next to the search box. The dashicon which I thought would appear to be a magnifying glass.
bgigiMemberI found this code and tried it, and now the Login/Logout is working and aligned to the right.
//* Add login or logout to menu add_filter( 'wp_nav_menu_items', 'sp_add_loginout_link', 10, 2 ); function sp_add_loginout_link( $items, $args ) { // Change 'primary' to 'secondary' to put the login link in your secondary nav bar if ( $args->theme_location != 'primary' ) return $items; if ( is_user_logged_in() ) { $items .= '<li class="menu-item right"><a href="'. wp_logout_url() .'">Log Out</a></li>'; } else { $items .= '<li class="menu-item right"><a href="'. site_url('wp-login.php') .'">Log In</a></li>'; } return $items; }
