Hi Brad. Thanks but that's not what I'm after. Perhaps I didn't word it well enough...

I have search form in a widget but it does not show the "go" button. Previously when the button didn't show it was merely hidden with css using the display:none. This is what I can't find and want. It seems that it's the "in" thing now to leave off the button, and I see all the new Genesis themes are leaving it out

just reread your last post and realised you said "There’s no provision to add an image to a category page in Genesis." Just checked a site without woocommerce and see it's not there!! OOPS! I thought that the provision WAS in Genesis which is why I asked here!

    Thanks 😀

I need the same in ordinary categories as well as the product cats, hence asking here 🙂

I was thinking that as you can attach an image to a category now, you should be able to display it there, otherwise what is the point of attaching image to a cat? Strange.

Thanks for your help Brad, I'll have a play around. I'll have to change it a bit as I'm running Genesis 2 and html5

    Cheers

thanks but I think you misunderstand me. When you create a category you can attach an image to it. I want to display that image in the category. I also need it to work with product categories (woocommerce).

So, for instance on this page http://www.funkthis.com/product-category/mens-t-shirt/ it will display the categories image next to the description

Hi Bee.  Sorry for delay - been away on holiday!   No coding is necessary.  It might take a little while to learn and understand though.

You have it styled in a span, should be a div.  But better still it should simply be h1 and then set the style for that in your css sheet.

Here's another one I've done.  Straight forward WooCommerce, although quite complicated with LOTS of variables. It also uses the extra plugin for delivery as that wasn't straight forward either <G>

    Here you go:   http://123photographs.co.uk/

I also use wp-types and wp-views in order to add custom fields, the slider and a custom display.

It integrates just fine, but you do need the genesis woocommerce plugin for it to be compatible.

Hi Anitac.  Thanks, I admit I gave up and purchased another plugin 🙂   But I would still like to know if it is possible

In functions.php file, scroll down to Customize breadcrumbs display and you'll see  <span class="home">You are here:</span>     Just delete that 🙂

    Thanks folks.

I didn't think it was a question for suppport, unless of course your saying that it hasn't been removed and it's just my members' area misbehaving. 🙂

It would be nice for location to be shown, not necessarily for prospectives but each other, especially in regard to possible meet ups.  On the other hand, whilst I love the idea meet ups and would love to attend I couldn't unless they were very local to me as I'm disabled.

Glad you figured it out.  Impossible for somebody else to do so blindly without seeing the files or site or anything 🙂

Hard lesson learned in finding a web developer 🙁

If you want to keep the changes he made then you need to know what files he altered.

If he didn't understand genesis or child themes, and simply copied all the genesis files and altered those then he may well have altered a lot more files than was actually necessary for a child theme.  That may, or may not, cause a problem, depending on what he has done.

The genesis theme needs to be in your theme folder, but NOT activated.  It is the child theme that is activated.  To produce a child theme you generally start off with the sample genesis child theme and build it from there.  You can of course name the child theme to anything you want, apart from genesis. If your activated theme was built in that way then you have no need to do anything as it will be using the main genesis framework and NOT operating stand-alone.

That you are being asked to upgrade Genesis is proof that it is working correctly.

Regarding upgrading, it sounds as though for some reason the upgrade didn't finish.  Try again, depending upon where you clicked to upgrade there may be a a screen appear saying "click here to finish" - so just make sure you click there 🙂
