If you follow the instructions for Brian's Welcome Widget and set the hook for home page only - it will give you the 960 widget you are desiring.
**Update**
Someone asked on the blog how to get it on the home page only and John Buscall graciously supplied the correct code which specified - if ( is_home() ) to get it on the home page only./** Add the welcome text section */add_action( ‘genesis_before_content_sidebar_wrap’, ‘custom_welcome_text’ );
function custom_welcome_text() {
if ( is_home() )
genesis_widget_area( ‘welcome-text’, array(
‘before’ => ”,
) );
}

AnitaKeymasterWell when I first installed it from my initial download - none of the images would show up. I went to the Download area and saw that there was a 1.0.1 version, so I download that one and then the images showed up. Then I had set a static page and that resulted in the image displaying as the featured image on the page and the background image showed up so there were two of the same picture. So you cannot use a static front really for it. And once I took the static page off - the arrows showed up.

December 21, 2012 at 10:51 am in reply to: Hyperlinks within a page to content in the same page #6675AnitaKeymasterThere's a plugin for "anchoring" the links - http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/better-anchor-links/screenshots/.

AnitaKeymasterI like the Bootstrap also and I was able to modify the CSS a bit better and I too had to make a couple tweaks but I like it.

AnitaKeymasterI just looked over in the old forum and didn't find anyone with that problem. Have you tried widening it with the CSS at all?

AnitaKeymasterMy apologies, I didn't see the "on every page".... disregard the suggestion then. And actually it will also work if you select the right hook action in his instructions.

AnitaKeymasterSomeone else had the same problem here - http://www.studiopress.community/topic/css-fix-for-education-theme-dropdown-menu-issue-heres-how/. See if this resolves your issue.

AnitaKeymasterIf you want to add a widget area the FULL WIDTH of your site in that area, instead of modify breadcrumbs - follow Brian Gardners instructions on adding the Welcome Widget area. The steps are really easy, he provides the CSS also so you can customize that area. It add a full width widget area there.

**ADDED** - Then just place the slider in there. You can add anything in that spot too.

AnitaKeymasterWhen you create a regular URL it uses the <a href="URL"..... You want to replace the URL with the MailTo function like this - mailto:[email protected].

AnitaKeymasterAs the instructions indicated here - http://my.studiopress.com/setup/expose-theme/, the most recent blog entries show up on the front. What they've done is created a "Category" called "Blog 2" and attached it to the menu. When they write a blog, I am assuming if they don't want it on the front - they categorize it as Blog2 - but they must not have figured it out yet because on Blog2 there are no entries.
If you want the Blog page to be everything else but what appears on the front, you may have to use plugin to do that. Here's the one I use for things like this - it's called Simply Exclude - http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/simply-exclude/.
Configure it the way you want it.

AnitaKeymasterGo to Genesis -> Slider -> and set everything up there - image size, rotation, etc. This slider is only for Posts or Pages, it's not for images only. You need to add a Featured Image to either the Posts/Pages and then they will show up in the slider.

AnitaKeymasterAhhhh doing some reading. The Links tab was removed. You will need to download, install this plugin - http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/link-manager/.

AnitaKeymasterDid you do a SERVER SIDE install (install from your hosting account) or did you MANUALLY install it after you DOWNLOADED the latest WP?
Love coffee, chocolate and my Bella!
AnitaKeymasterHummm, that's really weird. Do this... change the theme to the Default WP theme and see if the Links tab is there.

AnitaKeymasterTry dragging the Links widget to your primary sidebar so I can see it there.
