Tagged: Minimum theme
This morning I launched the first official version of WPSyntax.com using the Minimum child theme. I used the tutorial from carriedils.com to add the homepage slider, even though I ended up with static content and not a slider. Many thanks to other forum members that share their experiences so people like me can continue to learn.
If you have chance, please check out http://www.wpsyntax.com and provide some feedback. Would love to hear what else I can do to make it better.
Thanks,
Rick

Hi Rick. On your home page the thing that hit me was blue scheme with orange buttons. Really stood out nice, but then all your links are green. Then you have another button in the ad bar that is grey/silver. My thought would be to keep all your buttons and links the same color.
I like it.
How do you feel about posting some instructions as to how you changed the area with the Home Featured Image in it to the texts, buttons and links?
Thanks! For the homepage I started with this tutorial http://www.carriedils.com/add-slider-minimum-theme/2293 and then instead of dropping in the Genesis Slider I dropped in a single text widget. Have a look at Carrie's tutorial and if you need more specifics let me know and I'll be happy to write a tutorial with all the gory details.

Thanks for looking. As I'm more of a developer and not a designer, I have what I think are good reasons for the divide in color combinations. They make sense to me but probably not a designer. I'll keep your suggestions top of mind while I continue to fine tune the theme.
