Will any code that works in wordpress work in genesis?

    http://codex.wordpress.org/Post_Types

Will those code snippets work? I'm struggling with doing things on Genesis because there is a genesis way? Or can I just do things with wordpress snippets using genesis hooks?

I don't know how much the genesis frameworks blocks me from the wordpress community.

WordPress code works in Genesis as its a design framework built on Genesis.

WordPress offers over 1700+ hooks and filters and Genesis offers over 70 which you can use to hook in different types of content and filter the output of existing functions to customomize your site.

Template code is different to functions code however both Genesis and StudioPress use both templates and custom functions.

Generally you only need to edit 3-4 files max in any SP theme. functions.php, style.css and maybe ahome or front page template.

So I can call a query to the loop on this framework the same as I do on WP. I don't have to use the snippets provided on site that do a lot of "genesis" specific stuff...

    That's right.

    Here's a simple example:

    I liked your facebook page.

Perhaps you can assist me with what I am trying to accomplish.

    I have a loop
    http://mainstreetproperty.com/agents/

that displays realtors. I want links at the top for each of the alphabets, then click, and query the loop for title that starts with "A" or "B" or "C" depending on which link you click.

So I am trying to write the template.

I guess the A, B, C, D, E, F, G has to be a form that posts the alphabet, then a loop that checks $_POST[], then does a statement that puts in the alphabet to the loop.

What query in WP allows me to search a loop this way? Please help! 🙂

BradDalton, you know what really disappoints me about the genesis community...

We, as a community, haven't made a repository of code. Like bootstrap for twitter. Why don't we get together and make like 40+ options for menus. CSS styles that can be copy/paste in to a style sheet to redo the nav menu.

    What do you think?
