    Hey,

I have a bit of a noob query here...

I want to run WP on the main site xyz.com and I also want to use it for the blog which will be in sub-folder xyz.com/blog

Do I need to install WP in both the root as well as the sub-folder?

    Cheers,
    Avinash

    Anyone wanna chime in?

Also, what about creating a page called "blog" and using that to host the main page of the blog from?

Yes, install WordPress in the root and in the sub-directory.

I'm considering having a new theme for my website: http://techalook.com . I'm satisfied with the current theme but I'd prefer something which gives me more control widgets, especially when it's about managing ads.

Anyway, which of Studiopress themes you think is more suitable for my website which isn't so different from the current theme and gives me the options I'm looking for.

    Thanks for your help. 🙂

Is the site the same property / branding for main site and blog? If so, there's no need for two separate installations unless you have some functionality concerns.

That'll just add more admin burden. Now, if there's some security, branding or functionality reason by all means use two installs.
