MemberWordPress 3.8 stable release is not out yet, it is only in beta version (http://wordpress.org/news/2013/12/3-8-rc2/). You can try Genesis on WordPress 3.8 strictly on test website. When WordPress.org releases 3.8 version, Genesis should be compatible by that time.

MemberUpdated site I'm developing with genesis & child theme. No issues so far as I can see.
Love the new WP admin theme. Very clean and seems to be a tad zippier. Widget 2-column reorganisation is welcome. Fed up with multiple custom sidebars and having to infinitely scroll just to load them.

MemberI just updated one of my sites and all seems well. I wast testing a local host development site (based on my live site) and was shocked with the new update.

MemberSeems as though a few users have popped in here to say the 3.8 acted a little weird on some themes. This article seems to hint that there may be minor glitches as well.

Anyone updated 3.8 and using Metro Pro yet? Would love some feedback before updating a site.

Memberwhatever the theme, even with no child theme, the Featured Posts widget looks weird: one long column instead of two, sometimes depending on the browser window size, sometimes not. Maybe it has to do with mobile responsiveness, but it is very annoying. The link above points out this issue as well.

MemberI don't have the download link yet in my dashboard. I used websynthesis web hosting and I think they disabled the upgrade till they know it's stable for Genesis Framework customers. At least that's what I am thinking right now.

MemberI upgraded one test site and after I didn't see anything hinky, I upgraded Genesis Themes Guide and A Touch of Summer, and those seems to be running just fine. Of course, I'm contrary and have auto-updates disabled so nothing else can sneak up on me, but I'm enjoying the clean look, and I love the Admin Color Schemes plugin!
Does anyone else get stray widgets after core updates? For some reason, after some core WP updates, I'll have a handful of the default widgets dumped in the Inactive Widgets section. I'll get copies of Meta, Archives, Recent Comments, Recent Posts, Categories, and Search dumped there, and they're blank ones fresh off the selection panel that I've never used, ever.
It's weird... it seems as if when I have a completely empty Inactive section, it's fine, but if I actually have a couple of widgets saved in the Inactive section, a bunch more will just appear there.

ParticipantHi,
I reopen the discussion because there is one thing I do not understand.WordPress has been updated to versions:
- 3.7 on October 24, 2013
- 3.8 on December 12, 2013But the latest version of Genesis is August 21, 2013 (2.0.1)
It seems strange that there is no update available.
Maybe Genesis is a little abandoned? I hope not, I really love Genesis Framework and I have already purchased 3 child themes StudioPress, but I would like a clarification if possible, thank you 🙂December 27, 2013 at 7:18 am #81385Derek
MemberIt's not abandoned. The Framework don't always update after every WordPress update. If the new WordPress update has so many new features/security changes, StudioPress would put out a patch usually to fix any big's so our blogs will function normal till they release there next framework version they working on.
They are I am sure working on the next release but it might not be needed as of right now after 3.8 rolled out.
