I just purchased Genesis earlier today, as well as the Cobalt Dynamik for Genesis.
I was using Catalyst/Dynamik, so I have a good idea of how the child theme Dynamik works.
So I configure all of my Genesis settings ... not too difficult.
But when I go to Appearances >> Widgets, there are no sidebars where I can drag my widgets to. Is this something I'm doing incorrectly with Genesis, or would I have to go to the Cobalt Dynamik people for this?
Here is a screen capture of what I'm seeing in my widget area.
Thanks!

Try disabling your plugins or at least the last ones you installed before this started happening.

So I'm deactivating them right now, then will reactivate one by one. I might add that I did upgrade to WordPress 3.7 and things were working fine ... and that's when I purchased and installed Genesis and Cobalt Dynamik.

October 26, 2013 at 3:41 am #69031Jason WeberMemberYep -- I just deactivated my plugins, and now the widget areas are showing ... so surely there was a plugin conflict. Now comes the painfully slow process of reactivating one by one ... hehe
October 26, 2013 at 3:43 am #69033RobGMemberOh I see Jason, if you have time on your hands I wanted to ask you a question about Cobalt Dynamik, you can email me here
[email protected]. Thanks so much talk to you soon. Rob

Thanks for taking the time to respond, Bruce, because as unintelligent as I am, I'd have never thought that a plugin conflict was causing that!

I actually activate them in groups - if nothing breaks it when I activate a group, then I can move on; if it breaks, then I've isolated it to 3 or 4 of them. It's a much faster process than one by one 🙂
(FYI - I only have 3 plugins on my own site, but when I'm working on other's sites, I can sometimes be working with 20+ plugins)
October 26, 2013 at 4:07 am #69038Jason WeberMemberRob, I apologize for mistakenly calling you Bruce; it happens when you're a WordPress geek with no life who's been up for 36 straight hours figuring these things out ... hehe ... but Rob, your e-mail was bounced back ... [email protected] didn't work. Was that a typo?
Susan, for sake of veracity, that's actually what I did .... I have 49 plugins, and I installed them in groups of 10 at a time 🙂
By the way, being new to Genesis and the forums, why am I unable to add a profile picture?
October 26, 2013 at 4:11 am #69042RobGMemberHey Jason it all good my friend, I have a question for you if you could email me at [email protected] I would be greatful.
