ParticipantMy question is, why doesn't studio press require third party designers to provide step by step instructions to their themes like the ones developed by Studiopress?
I bought the Epik theme, download and activated, returned to the theme instructions and was routed to the developer's forum. I was NOT pleased! Had I known this is what would've happened, I would NOT have purchased the EPIK theme.
Studiopress please require your third party designers to provide step by step instructions for their theme setup . What say you?
Thank you.

MemberHi,
you should send your complaint to the official Studiopress support at http://my.studiopress.com/help/

MemberI bought that theme last year and it was like that. I don't use the theme now but it's the developer choice. Not a good one because I like detailed instructions which helps getting the theme up much faster then searching for answers to basic questions on setup.

Participantappfinite.com provide a support forum where you can ask for help setting up your theme.
Different people setup themes differently with different content and different styling.

ParticipantUnfortunately, they aren't the fastest at getting your account set up, either, so you can't ask questions....

ParticipantI think it may have something to do with offering customisation support.
Most theme providers don't offer this type of support so you reply on the community to help you out.
Not sure if they have volunteers there who offer setup support.
And not sure if the appfinite community write tutorials in support of setting up different themes.
I do like the setup guide SP include for each theme and refer to it sometimes which helps save time so maybe appfinite will start to do this as well.
I emailed them so lets see if they pop over and engage!

ParticipantHello everyone, I just wanted to clear up some confusion. We actually do have a setup tutorial located on the Epik forum page. It's been there for a few years every since I created the theme.
The link to the tutorials is also mentioned in the read me file of the theme. The StudioPress link in your account should link to the tutorials, if it's not I apologize as I don't have control of SP accounts here....but I will email StudioPress so the link can be accessed.
Epik is just like any other StudioPress theme, it starts out empty until you add content inside of it. By default, the theme will show your Blog posts. If you want to activate the home page feature widgets then you can simply add a widget to whichever home widget area you want to show. This way you have complete control over the way your homepage looks, and you don't have to worry about removing all of the content you don't want to show.
The tutorials/code snippets on the Epik forum page will show you exactly how to set everything up just like the demo. It can be done pretty easily, but if you run into any issues just head over to our forums - http://appfinite.com/forums/ I'm rarely here on the StudioPress forums since I have my own forum to handle a lot of questions. So if you need me to help you with anything it's best to head over to appfinite.
@krystyn I have someone that manually creates new accounts for the forum. I checked when you signed up and you're account was created the same day. The system is supposed to send a confirmation Email when your account is created, but sometimes the email may go to your Spam folder by mistake. So if you or anyone else runs into that issue, just try logging in or contacting us.Thanks @Brad for sending me this link!
If anyone needs any support or assistance I'd be more than happy to help! Just let me know 🙂
