    Hello! I am stumped and would appreciate help! Home page the submenu displays fine, over the top of content, but on interior pages it is underneath and adding z-index does not help, the problem I believe is with .content, as on the home page it has been replaced with ez-home-container-wrap (genesis extender plugin)

    Hi!
    A very interesting brain-teaser! I have an idea for you to pursue. Notice the last 2 lines I've added to your CSS: (I removed the "at sign" before "media" because good old bbpress will eat the code otherwise)

    media only screen and (min-width: 800px)
    .nav-primary .genesis-nav-menu {
      float: right;
      background-color: #FFF;
      opacity: 0.5;
      position: relative;
      z-index: 10;
    }

    This made the dropdowns appear. I do like the watery opacity of the menu. But for the dropdowns, it makes them a little tricky to read due to low contrast. So you may want to play with opacity on the sub menu. And since this code is for a certain breakpoint, you may need to make a similar change at other screen sizes.

    if all opacity is removed from the primary menu, the z-index problem goes away! I'm a CSS geek, and was surprised to find that opacity interacts with z-index. ๐Ÿ™‚

    Hope that helps,
    Dave

    David, thank you for your CSS passion! I was able to change the css to this, and get just the right effect!!

    	.nav-primary .genesis-nav-menu {

    		float: right;

    		background-color:  rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.6);

    Thanks again, sometimes the layers of CSS in wordpress can be a head spinning experience.

    Handsun,
    You're welcome!

    Yes, using the rgba format for that is often the best way to go, good call. It looks really good now, and the drops have that extra little push. What a team! ๐Ÿ˜‰
