    So before I switched to the Academy child theme, I was running the Sample Child theme with lots of customizations. When I switched to Academy the widget areas create a different home page. I would like to use my old home page as simply a page on my website, but when I put it in my menu and then try to use it - the link reverts to the new home page. There's some code somewhere making that happen but I don't know where. It's not in the settings - those are set for the new home page. I've looked.

    Yes a workaround is making a new page by copying and pasting but I'm hoping that the answer is easier than that. your thoughts?

    Page I want: Is a Home-mate in your future? It's now the first item on the Welcome drop down.

    Sounds like you need to remove the widgets from the widget area if you would like a different home page. Or you can rename the front-page.php file in the theme folder to front-page-off.php.

    Hmmmm... not trying to make it be the home page - trying to get it to STOP reverting to the home page and simply display.

    Go to Settings > Reading and make sure you haven't set that page as the static home page.
