    Hello,

I've looked at the tutorial page on studiopress, but don't understand it. What is the genesis grid loop? What is a grid? When should I be using it?

    Thank-you

The grid loop allows you to display your articles in multiple formats. You'll have a number of full content posts, followed by shortened posts. These shortened posts may be arranged into multiple columns, or a grid.

    For example, non-grid-loop page: http://demo.studiopress.com/enterprise/templates/blog/
    Genesis-grid-loop page: http://demo.studiopress.com/balance/

This can can be accomplished without the grid loop, but it's in place to try and make the process simpler (all of Genesis).
