    Hi everyone!

I have just purchased my first genesis theme (genesis framework).

I need some help on the best way to get the layout I want and I am not sure if I can do this by adjust the widgets etc or if I should get my designer to do a psd of exactly what I want and then find someone to code it....

Basically I want a top menu
    Ebook giveaway/email subscription box underneath
then two featured page boxes side by side underneath
then normal homepage settings with blog and sidebar

Any help on the most effective way to get this done would be much appreciated!!

It's very easy to add widget areas to your homepage by customizing home.php (or functions.php if you want the widget areas to be sitewide). You can google and find tons of tutorials on adding widget areas. Just make sure you are making changes in a child theme (likely the Genesis Sample theme) and not the framework itself.
