Does anyone know what plugin or WordPress feature is automatically shortening permalink post titles?

Is there a SEO advantage to this?

WordPres SEO by Yoast does this. It has an option to remove stop words.

    Thanks, William.

Being that plugin, which I have, it should help SEO. But sometimes it alters keyword phrases. So I'm not sure.

    Thanks again for your reply.

This post by Yoast explains, if anyone is interested. Don't get confused by how it is worded. I had to read it couple of times to get what he intended. Just search "stop words."
