I'm searching for some noob info on setting up Minimum 2.0. I'm sure all my questions have been answered many times in the old forums.
So I followed the 'Old Forum (Read only)' link in the RESOURCES menu above, but only a 'General Discussion' forum remains there.
What happened to all the theme specific forum discussions etc and the knowledge base therein? How can I access it?
Has it disappeared or is it being migrated to the new forums?

OK. I assumed if I was logged in under my updated MyStudiopress Id and Password it would work but it doesn't provide read access or allow me to log into the old forum.
So I had to recover my old password (I dumped it as I understood everything was moving to the new forum) and I can see all the stuff now.
Will I need to maintain two logins going forward (for the old and new forums)?

If you are looking for how to set up the theme, login to http://my.studiopress.com/
Look for hte Minimum theme listed.
Click the "Setup" link next to the theme name. That is where the setup instructions are. 🙂
You cannot login to the old forums unless you previously had an account there.

Well, that's not useful for those of us who are very new because user registrations were disabled. I can't login and I can't register for a login. How am I supposed to obtain access to the information in the old forum?

At this time it is being left open for existing users who have questions that were asked and need to see the information. The current system doesn't link into the vBulletin software so we cannot facilitate new registrations, so the forums are locked. If you cannot find the answer in your setup tutorials you may create a support ticket or create a thread in this forum. If it is a question about changing the functionality or appearance of the theme please use these forums.
This will help improve the content available in these forums which will reduce the need for the old forums.
It may help improve this forum, but it means that new users, like me, don't get to research the wisdom contained in those old posts. Sometimes its better to do a little research before asking a question, but I guess that avenue isn't available now.
From my perspective, the priority of improving this forum should not be higher than the priority of providing resources for people to help themselves.

Gavin - although you can't change your user name, you can change how it appears - you can create a "nickname" by editing your profile...
You do not *need* the old forum logins. 🙂
Once things settle down, all the "good stuff" from the old forums will be mined and brought over into the tutorials section.
And yes you can nag me directly. 🙂

Well, all these changes might be smart in the creator's minds. However, as it seems the old child theme forums will disappear some time in the future, and then we have to start all over again with Q & A's. In my humble opinion that is not smart, and if this gets too complicated we'll just have to move on.
@Andrea, I'm very happy to hear that the intent is to grab a lot of the information off the old forums and create tutorials. There have been many times I've needed to know how to make minor (and major) modifications to a child theme and found just what I needed already addressed in the forums. This enabled me to get right to work immediately without having to engage a support person and wait for a response.
I'm REALLY hoping that access to all that great information in the old forums is available for quite a while. I guess eventually the new forums will build up good info too, but I'd hate to lose access to years and thousands of posts worth of valuable help.
Again, bravo on converting some of this to tutorials. Here's to hoping that starts to occur sooner rather than later!
