    I just finished a website using the AltitudePro theme. According to Google Page Insights, I'm getting a Speed of 61/100. Here is its recommendations:

    Should Fix:

      Eliminate render-blocking JavaScript and CSS in above-the-fold content
      Enable compression
      Leverage browser caching

    Consider fixing

      Optimize Images
      Minify CSS
      Minify HTML

    How do I fix these issues?

    To enable Compression add to your .htaccess

    <ifModule mod_gzip.c>
    mod_gzip_on Yes
    mod_gzip_dechunk Yes
    mod_gzip_item_include file .(html?|txt|css|js|php|pl)$
    mod_gzip_item_include handler ^cgi-script$

    mod_gzip_item_include mime ^text/.*
    mod_gzip_item_include mime ^application/x-javascript.*
    mod_gzip_item_exclude mime ^image/.*
    mod_gzip_item_exclude rspheader ^Content-Encoding:.*gzip.*
    </ifModule>

    To leverage browsing use a catching plugin such as WT3C

    For images use a plugin such as EWWW Image Optimizer

    There are plugins to minify js, css and html

    The render blocking is due to google fonts, not much you can do about it.

    Hello there!
    I also have similar score for my site using AltitudePro theme. Since then, I have changed the .htaccess file, to gzip, enable browser caching, and minify js, css and html files. However, still not much improvement. Any other suggestions?
    Many thanks.
