Does anyone know why maybe the reason why I unable to and keep getting errors verifying the other version of our site i.e. the non www was fine way back this year and get all the stats on it etc ...but Now trying to verify the actual www version in webmaster tools using http://www.DomainName.com
(We use genesis (latest version) and lifetsyle theme )

    Webmaster tools keeps saying this:
Verification failed using the Meta tag Your meta tag is not formatted correctly. To avoid errors, copy and paste the contents of the meta tag directly from the instructions.

Well I have done this !
Gosh frankly It is simple enough tried using plugin called All in One Webmaster (as indeed done fine for the non www version) infact as well as trying the alternative method webmaster tools give you ie. ftp method the code in the root folder in fact you can see in the website root folder google codes in there ok but yet it refuses to register the www version!

Any suggestions to fix or why this maybe?
    Thanks Jenny

    Hi,
Not sure if this is your issue, but I know I had to add both the www and non-www as separate websites to webmaster tools to get mine to work. I verified each one, set the primary domain and then deleted the one I was not using.
