I have installed Genesis and a child theme but in the short term, for this particular site, I've decided to use another non-genesis theme as it will get me to where I need to be much faster. I can look to convert the site to Genesis in due course.

    Questions:

    1. Do I need to uninstall/deactivate the Genesis framework in some way before installing the new theme?

    2. Will leaving Genesis present on my WordPress install cause problems with the new theme?

    Thanks in advance

    Steve

    1. Nope. Just upload the new theme and activate it.
    2. Leaving Genesis and child theme won't cause any issue with the new theme.

Yes, you can leave everything as is...no need to uninstall or move anything.

Genesis is just a parent theme, and the child themes are just modifications of that. Does having any other theme installed on your WordPress create a problem? It is no different from any other theme in that sense.

    All the best
