    Hi!
I have been using the Metro Pro theme and love it. I made several modifications to the theme and now want to go back to the fresh core basics of the theme. I re-install the theme, I delete the theme folder and reinstall... but it keeps reloading with legacy items from my old modifications.

How can I get a totally fresh install of the theme so I can start the modifications from scratch?

    Thanks!

    Alex

Please share a link to your site so we can take a look. If you have any caching plugins loaded, clear them. Also check and make sure you do not have a custom.css file in your theme folder or anything under Appearance > Custom CSS.

Thank you for your reply! I torched the whole folder and created a new themes folder, installed a new genesis and metro pro theme. Same nonsense still pops up.

Well, you need to move your widgets where you want them. I think the the framework is retaining the placements of the widgets since it's still Metro. So go to Appearance > Widgets and drag them off into the inactive widget area.

Hmmmm. I want the OG Metro header, etc. Just the clean default. Is there no way to just hit one giant candylike reset button? If I move widgets around I will still have the old background, etc. I want to start clean.

No. No button to delete it all. You can go to Appearance > Background and clear that background out.

I understand. I just don't want to go in and remove the background because all of the other changes are still there. When I install Metro Pro into a new install of wordrpess, that is what I want, with my content connected to it, then I can go in and reconfigure. It is still a zoo of code that does not conform to a clean install of the theme, which is what I am going for. I can't understand how this can't be easier. Where is there legacy information that is not allowing the default install to take hold?
