I am new at this but I am following the directions very closely. This is a clean instal of Genesis framework and Outreach. Outreach is activated. I have the WordPress Importer installed and activated. I unzipped the Outreach zip file so I could navigate to the outreach-pro.xml file inside the xml folder. I uploaded it. I expected to see all the pages and posts as well as gray placeholder images. Just to see what uploaded, I looked in the media library. Here is what I see. Note: there are two xml files there because I tried it twice. Is this a hoist server problem that may be adding the .txt to the back of the file?

Thanks.May 16, 2014 at 11:19 am #105512nutsandboltsMemberTo install the sample content .xml file, you'll need to use Tools > Import in the WordPress dashboard. It will ask you to choose from a number of services (Blogger, WordPress, etc. - you'll want to choose WordPress), then it will prompt you to select the .xml file from your computer. The media library uploader is turning it into a text file because it isn't equipped to handle the .xml file extension.
Hope that helps!

I don't think I am using the media library uploader. I followed the steps just like you said. I'm using tools/Import/wordpress I upload the file, I see the choice to remap the authorship and the checkbox for upload images. I only saw the .txt file when it seemed like it was not working and I went snooping in the media library to see if anything worked. Should I get all the pages and posts if it was working?May 16, 2014 at 12:41 pm #105522nutsandboltsMemberSorry about that - I misunderstood what you were saying. I'm wondering if it's timing out during the upload... Who is your host?

It just seemed very quick. Should it have taken longer, like 15 seconds? Do you think it may be some firewall issue? I can call them if that is a possibility.
I never did this before so I wasn't sure what to expect. So, I SHOULD see all the demo site's pages and posts, right?May 16, 2014 at 12:46 pm #105525nutsandboltsMemberThere's not a ton of demo content there, so it shouldn't take too long. But you should see a screen asking you whether you want to import authors, then a message that says "All done. Have fun!"
It's also possible that the .xml exceeds your max upload size.

PS: I'm impressed with your website and business. Good luck and blessings to you.May 16, 2014 at 1:28 pm #105538FreshCreativeMemberCalled Liquid... the logs say that the import was erroring because it was trying to request 256 megs of memory, exceeding the limit. Liquid placed a php.ini file with mem limit of 256 , then had to call the php.ini in the htaccess file.
Thanks Andrea. -
