Transfer Site from Sub-Domain to Root with Yahoo Hosting

Been working on a Genesis Metric theme site for a client using his domain hosted by Yahoo. The domain site is http://www.one3ip.com

I created a sub-domain at http://www.one3ip.com/wpsite to process all the work in progress.

Now for the issue. No matter who I speak with at Yahoo support, the folks in tech support are explaining to me that in Yahoo, you can not transfer a WordPress site from a sub domain http://www.one3ip.com/wpsite to a root domain http://www.one3ip.com

The only work around is to create a mask that points directly to the current sub domain site (which we have done). Therefore, when you access the root domain http://www.one3ip.com, it points to the wpsite. You will notice 'wpsite' listed in the web address. This is not what I expected as other web hosts (i.e. - Go Daddy, Network Solutions, Cheap Domain, etc) all allow for this simple change.

Has anyone experienced this issue with Yahoo? Is it true that the site can not be transferred? What suggestions do you have? Thanks for listening.     ....Paul

it'll take some work, but it can be done.

first questions:

1) do you have FTP access to the site?
2) do you have sql database access to the sites?

depending on your answers to those will determine how you should go about migrating it.

Yes, I have FTP access to the site.

As for SQL Database, I am a novice and do not know how to use it. But according to the Yahoo account, we should have access to MySQL Database. Here is the info:
