Titles and SEO titles

Hi,

I hope this is the right forum for this question. The title I used for my site was: Driftless Prairies: Native Habitat Restoration with a tagline of: Nature inspires awe! As I've worked thru some SEO improvements, I am getting a message that my title is too long. So...I shortened it. If you look at the site: http://www.driftlessprairies.org , it now seems like the title is too short and there's a lot of white space on the right hand side. I would love some suggestions for what to do. All ideas will be welcomed and I thank you, in advance, for taking time to help me.

PS -- This is not a commercial site. I do this at my own expense to share info on a topic that is complex and complicated.

Hi,

you are writing content for people, not for Google.

Depending on your SEO plugin you set the SEO Titles on a per posts/ pages basis or globally to only include "Driftless Prairies", while your official website title is "Driftless Prairies: Native Habitat Restoration".

Yes, I know I shouldn't be too concerned with it, but I'm taking a class and wanted to try out all the things that were suggested and learn each one. This one has/had me perplexed.

I'm using Yoast SEO as a plug in. I'll look into it further to see if I can figure out how to set this.

Put SEO titles with google adword planner.find a niche.Use How to,Learn,Read,Buy,Use ....etc Call to action words.
