    H all,

Been working on this for about a week straight and I'm almost to the point of getting it to an acceptable place but am stuck on two things, hope you can help, my server support was dismal 🙁

So, my old site is an html site: http://www.billthompson.org.

I've rebuilt my wordpress site in a test folder at http://www.tester/billthompson.org

I don't want 'tester' in my url, so I've migrated it to another subdirectory which is now http://www.billthompson.org/aka_prof_lofi (which is fine as I go by that as a performer).

So far everything works except two things:

    1) the redirect from my site doesn't work:

I've redirected my http://www.billthompson.org address to http://www.billthompson.org/aka_prof_lofi which I was hoping would be the landing page (it's the Artist link in the menu), formerly: http://www.tester.billthompson.org
I've renamed http://www.tester.billthompson.org to aka_prof_lofi but the redirect doesn't work as you might have noticed.

To get to the new site, you have to skip into an internal link such as http://www.billthompson.org/aka_prof_lofi/templates/blog/

Once there, you'll see that Portfolio still links to 'tester' and the landing page 'Artist' doesn't work.

    and

    2) The Portfolio Archive link (I'm on minimum theme) still points to the 'tester' url. I've updated my permalinks and looked in the CSS folder for the portfolio archive but can't seem to get it to switch.
I've run Blue velvet and search and replace plugins but no joy as well.

And 3) my category archive links don't work either.

Nit really sure what to do, followed instructions carefully, searched forums, but specifically can't figure out this Portfolio Archive permalink issue which is specific to minimum theme.

Can you offer me any hope...I'm so close and yet so far!

    Thanks so much,

    Bill

    Hi all,

OK< I've solved a couple of the issues by going into the Functions Editor.

So the Admin login now points to the right wp site, and the Portfolio Archive now points correctly to the wordpress site.

I'm just one step from launching but absolutely stuck.

My landing page is http://www.billthompson.org/aka_prof_lofi but it won't load. In the test site it was http://www.tester.billthompson.org (which still loads).

Can anyone help? This where I'm well and truly beyond myself and I have a major gig tomorrow and really want to go live before then.

    Cheers!

    Bill

    Hi Bill,

I´m not sure how you did what you did, so it´s not clear how to help you.

Why didn't you just install WordPress in the root directory?
How did you move your test site to the new location or are you just using redirects?
    Did you re-save your permalinks?
