    I need help with a custom template that from a selected group of categories print out the category description and posts content if the category have any posts.

    Someone that can help me with this or is there a better way to do this?

    It´s for displaying courses with on a page that displays diffrent courses. It should only show if that course has avaliable dates, otherwise hide that course. The page will have diffrent categories with courses.

    Try the WordPress Template Hierarchy

    Template file used to render a Category Archive Index page

    1. category-{slug}.php - If the category's slug were news, WordPress would look for category-news.php
    2. category-{id}.php - If the category's ID were 6, WordPress would look for category-6.php
    3. category.php

    Example file

    <?php

    genesis();
