    Hello,

Just wanted to ask around if anyone has had a similar experience with their website crashing after purchasing a template. I have purchased the Swank template and have been using it fine on the website for the past month including editing the css or functions, theme files just for customisation purposes. But recently, since yesterday, the website has completely crashed and had to be reinstalled and the back up version had to be retrieved from the server. Some data was lost so that was added in again this morning, and similarly this afternoon while I was making the same changes to the editor html/css file, after clicking update, the site has completely crashed again like yesterday.

Anyone knows what's causing this? If it's a bug in the template, or if it's because of the editing although I have been doing that for a month and it was all fine until yesterday.

    Thanks in advance!

There is no bug in the template which would cause your site to crash. (I provide theme support for all the Pretty Darn Cute Design themes, including Swank, and have never seen a site crash for no reason).

A site will crash for a number of reasons, including:

    hacking
invalid modifications of a PHP file
    outdated plugins
    issues at hosting

I would recommend making sure that your site has not been hacked; remove any theme modifications you have made; update all your plugins, and remove those you no longer use; talk to your hosting company.
