Suppress featured image on single posts, Streamline Pro

Is it possible to suppress the featured image on single post displays? Currently, if there is a featured image that is displayed above the post head. If that happens to come from the single image in the post without a feature image being specified, it repeats the inserted image. In either case, it would be great if there were an option to display the featured image only on post streams, like the home page or archives, and avoid showing them when a post is viewed by itself.

To clarify, what you want is to remove the featured image from single posts?

To do this, find the code in your functions file which adds it and remove that code.

In your theme, thats the code between lines 100 - 110.

Thank you Brad, removing that function eliminates the featured images on the home pas as well. I want to keep those but suppress the featured image when a single post is displayed. To make sure I am talking about the same thing, the function I commented out begins with the comment line on line 99
//* Add post image above post title

Was that the function you meant?

Put the code back and use a conditional tag.

Brad, I figured out a solution using CSS. I added the following to the custom CSS file and the problem is fixed:

.single .post-photo {display: none;}

With that in the CSS the featured image does not show up on the single post pages. I should have studied the class structure differences between the home and single post pages earlier.

Much simpler and less dangerous than editing the functions.php file.

I do appreciate your chiming in and guiding me along the way.

My suggestion to make this a configuration option still remains.
