Three days ago, my site was flagged by Google as possibly having malware (!), and listed the three troublesome files. I removed those files and then installed the WordFence Plugin. Since then, I have had trouble with the Eleven40 Pro theme, including no editor menu when writing a post, not being able to use the visual editor, widgets locked, etc.

I switched out to the standard WP theme and then switched back. Same problems. I deactivated all plugins and removed entirely the Wordfence Plugin then I slowly activated only essential plugins. This solved the problems with writing posts, but a critical element with the theme remains unresolved: I cannot "customize" it at all. Every customization in Eleven40 Pro stays frozen -- i.e. you can't even open any option when you click on it. As such, my header is still off and cannot use all of my widgets, including the widget area in the header.

Any suggestions as to the next step?

Download a fresh copy of WordPress and Eleven40 Pro and overwrite the files on your server (except wp-config.php and functions.php).

I downloaded a fresh copy of WP and Eleven40Pro. I uploaded a fresh copy of WP. When I tried to upload a fresh copy of Eleven40 Pro, I couldn't upload the theme. I switched to a different WP theme, twentyeleven, but I couldn't upload a fresh copy there either. So now I'm guessing the problem is might actually be specific to WP and not to Eleven40 Pro? Or any other suggestions?

    Thank you for your time.
