Subtitles?

Does anyone know of a plugin that actually works with the current versions of Genesis and WP? I've found lots of plugins that handle subtitles but they don't seem to work with Genesis, and the only Genesis specific one that I've found is Genesis Subtitles (http://wordpress.org/plugins/genesis-subtitles/) which hasn't been updated in two years and I can't get an answer whether it works with WP 4.3.1.

I just installed the plugin on a test site (running Genesis 2.2.3 and WordPress 4.3.1) and it works as advertised.

Thanks for that reply Christoph, and for letting me know that it works for you. Can I ask which child theme you're using? I ask because last night I went ahead and tried it on a test site as well, using Centric. I was unable to get it to do anything other than to position flush to the right of the title itself (not exactly what I'd want to have).

I've been using the Subtitles plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/subtitles/) on a number of sites running Genesis, without any problems at all, for at least a year now.

I currently have it in use on sites running 4.2.5 and 4.3.1, with Genesis 2.1.3 and 2.2.3, using a variety of child themes, like Epik, Streamline Pro, News Pro. Works wonders on single posts and archive views, and I even submitted a bug to the dev where the subtitle was behaving oddly in the RSS feeds (which he fixed last year very quickly).

What problems have you been running into?

Hi,

Centric repositions the page title, so you will have to add some code to show the subtitle underneath the page title.

Add this to functions.php:

remove_filter( 'genesis_entry_header', 'ahjira_subtitle_after_title', 11 );
add_filter( 'genesis_after_header', 'ahjira_subtitle_after_title', 11 );

And then you will have to style the class .subtitle and/or h2.subtitle in your style.css.
e.g.

 h2.subtitle {
text-align: center;
}
