Some suggestions to StudioPress that would really help avoid the painful day many of your customers (like me) had today:
1) Make Genesis conform to the version history standard used on other themes in the WP repository. Giving your users an idea of the change log — the reasons for the update, and if there are any security issues being patched — gives us a clue whether or not to update Genesis immediately or not when the updates come out. This is simply common courtesy, which is lacking. I pity anyone who has their sites on auto update, who might get panicked calls from clients. This is a great case study for why auto updates are a terrible idea. Bad things like this will happen even in manual updates, but at least I knew what caused the layout problems to appear.
2) When you add an update to the downloads section, please, please, please keep a copy of the version that is being replaced on the downloads page. That way we can revert to the prior version when you f-up like you did with 2.2.4. I had to drop back to 2.2.1 which I had downloaded and kept in my storage. I'd have preferred to go back to 2.2.3 but didn't have a copy. And you don't make it easy to find one, if it IS out there somewhere.
3) Do you community a favor, and COMMUNICATE. Nothing on your blog? Nothing besides users panicking in the forums? Come on, you're a big company, big enough to provide some bare minimum of instructions/help/links.

You can solve this problem via your functions file using conditional layouts.
Quite agree. For normally such a good solid company the communication has been terrible; unless I am mistaken there has not yet been an Official Post on these forums to explain what is going on?
I have probably 15 sites out there using Genesis and thankfully none on auto-update otherwise chaos would have ensued.

That maybe because this forum isn't "Official" support. Any issues related to the Genesis Framework should be submitted via ticket to the StudioPress directly.
These forums are for the community to get customization questions answered etc.
That's not to say that I disagree with you, but just explaining why announcements don't come via this forum...

I see that 2.2.5 is on the 'update' page in the site's admin area. Who will be first to give it a try and report back? Won't be me, I've had enough excitement for one night and morning!
No. The reply was to the OP on not being able to get the 2.2.3 version. The fix for the the layout issue will be out today according to the Facebook thread.
