    On the Streamline Pro Theme there are three featured widget areas at the top.

    Directly below the three Home Featured widget areas there is a blog style listing of recent posts.

    How to limit the number of those posts to 1 or 2?

    That code works on the blog page template.

    What you can do is use the Genesis > Theme Settings or

    pre_get_posts http://codex.wordpress.org/Plugin_API/Action_Reference/pre_get_posts

    Please copy ALL the code from the view raw link and paste it at the end of your child themes functions.php file using a text editor like Notepad++

    Also check your reading settings.
