Hey guys, I finally broke down and bought Genesis and the Go Green Pro theme after a few weeks of debating it, and finally got frustrated with customizing a free theme to suit my needs.
Anyway, I just bought a new domain and realized I've gotta go through installing plugins yet again, so I figured I'd come over here to the forums and see what all you other professionals are using for your plugins.
So far, I've got:

Limit Login Attempts
W3 Total Cacheand then I've got a few plugins for my AddThis share/follow buttons.
I'm still not entirely sure what all else I should be getting, and what will be redundant. What are you guys using?

I notice you guys don't use either the WP-Super Cache or the W3 cache? I ask, because I have been having trouble with my site - and i think it's the WP-super cache causing problems. And I'm wondering whether it's necessary to have at all, or can I just remove?

LisaI had to stop using Yoast SEO because the newer versions were slowing my sites down, adding at least 5 seconds, sometimes more. It happened on more than one site on more than one host, so I know the server wasn't the issue. I went back to the builtin Genesis SEO, but that's been problematic on a couple of recent sites I've done... still tracking that down.
Lisa, I don't use caching plugins anymore because at the time, on a couple of my big sites, they were causing more problems than they were helping with, so I haven't used any in at least 5 years. Just my personal viewpoint on them.
Brad, do you know what feed plugin you're planning to switch to now that Google's killing off Feedburner? I ask because I'm still keeping my eye out for options. FeedBlitz seemed like a good alternative, but they got into the podcast feeds game really late, and their methods totally trashed my feeds in terms of what both iTunes and subscribers were looking for. They seem to be good for regular old blog/news feeds, but they still have a ways to go for podcast feeds, so I went with either Podtrac or just the bare native feeds for those.
My go to plugins are:

Genesis Simple EditsMy new social plugin is Floating Social Bar from WP Beginner... very nice, can't wait to see the version coming along that will allow people to add hooks for the social nets they want
The others I use vary depending on site needs. If I have a site with multiple authors where not all of them need access to the back end, I use Co-Authors Plus and Genesis Co-Authors Plus together... makes adding guest authors easy, without needing to add an account for a user who might use a weak password because they only post 5-6 times a year.
For sites that need to post updates to Twitter, I like WP to Twitter, because it took up where Brave New Code seemed to have abandoned their free version of WordTwit a couple years ago. Now that BNC has dropped WordTwit Pro and all their other plugins to focus just on WPTouch, seems like switching when I did was a good step.
Everything else is on an "as needed" basis 🙂

I'll look into that Floating Social Bar too - I've been using Digg Digg, which I like for the most part, but it seems to have problems for some users who use facebook - and a large white box to cover the whole page. Not good.

I'd have to look into that. One thing I like about TablePress is its ability to convert an Excel speadsheet.
@Summer Google’s killing off Feedburner? - I think i will go for Jetpack Subscriptions as its free and more flexible than Feedburner. Feedblitz and MailChimp are also in the mix.
@wp guy Yes, Table Press is a great plugin.

My host takes care of the speed which is the fastest on the planet for hosting WP Sites. There is no faster.
Brad, that's been that concern ever since they had major problems last year that they left unresolved for a week, then piling on with killing Google Reader, iGoogle and AdSense for Feeds. Since they took away the little bit of monetization that was there, the writing's been on the wall that next year's Spring Cleaning will include killing FeedBurner finally, after starving it from lack of attention and development for 3 years.
They shut down the Feedburner Development blog, the API, and the Twitter account around July last year, and they let the Feedburner.jp domain lapse completely around the same time, with no warning, so several hundred thousand users and websites dangling with no way to recover their feeds or their data.
Feedburner: It's dead, Jim.

Slice of SciFi | Writers, After DarkWell i hope Jetpack work out a solution to import subscribers but i guess Feedblitz are looking the better as they offer RSS management for free as well as email.
To use Jetpack you need to sign up to wordpress.com - if I've got that right. Maybe I'm just getting old but that irritates me.
Is there a decent alternative for subscriptions or is Jetpack the best way?
Oh and I also tend to steer clear of caching plugins unless I have to - too much trouble usually.
It doesn't provide email but it does include most of Jetpacks featured without needing to connect to their servers.
@braddalton, I would like to use bootstrap on my genesis too. To really get behind that though, I'd need a reliable menu plugin for genesis that gives me access to the walker class without having to code that everytime. Something like simple edits but to dictate the menu markup easily.

Dallas Hearts YouWhat are you all using for post sharing? I just installed Slim Jetpack, and that does allow a post to be shared, but only if the user is already logged in. When I logged out and viewed a post, the icons don't even display. I just want my blog readers to be able to e-mail their friends about my posts.
It doesn't have email as an option yet, but Floating Social Bar is what I'm starting to use. They say that future versions will have hooks that end users can use to customize which social services to display on their sites.
There's also a new one I may try out, Simple Share Buttons Adder... it has an email option.
