Social icons in color

testing moving over my site to streamline theme. I have the social icons plugin installed but I would rather have them show up in their appropriate social media colors. Is there a way to do that or is this just by design for this plugin?

I found this on a forum I belong to but if you use Firebug you can figure it out as well. So here is the example.

.simple-social-icons ul li.social-email a {
background-color: #fdcf0e !important;
}

You would obviously change the email to what facebook, twitter, etc or whatever Firebug is telling you it is called.
