Sixteen Nine + Simple Social Icons: widget disappears

Testing on localhost so cannot post a URL.

WordPress 3.6 + Genesis 2.0.1 + Sixteen Nine theme

The basic WordPress install (1 page, 1 post). Only 1 plugin activated: Simple Social Icons.
I added a Simple Social Icons widget to Header Right.

Observation: Tested the responsiveness by resizing window. When the window is resized smaller, at the point where the post listing shifts from right-side to below, the Simple Social Icons widget disappears.

Experiment 1: Add text widget above Simple Social Icons widget.
When window is resized smaller, text widget remains visible, Simple Social Icons widget disappears.

Experiment 2: Add text widget below Simple Social Icons widget.
When window is resized smaller, text widget remains visible, Simple Social Icons widget disappears.

Can someone verify this behavior?

Searching for "Sixteen Nine", I found that at least one other person has this problem. Can anyone else confirm?

I have the theme and plugin and the icons are showing up in my side bar. I have more then 1 plugin installed btw.

Sounds like a theme booboo? I can confirm it does the same thing in my installation. My guess is the following:

There is a media query for responsiveness at line 1291:

@media only screen and (max-width: 1279px) {

This is followed by line 1346, which causes the simple social icons (and footer) to disappear when the screen hits 1279px:

	.simple-social-icons,
	.site-footer {
		display: none;
	}

Change this to:

	.simple-social-icons {
		display: inline-block;
	}		
	
	.site-footer {
		display: none;
	}

This displays the icons when the screen shrinks but doesn't display the "Powered by Genesis" from the footer, just like in the demo.

I'd say that you and member 'korio' have made a good catch that the SP folks would like to know about.

It's been 4 days since I submitted a support ticket about this. No response yet.
Advertised response time is 24-48 hours. Should I resubmit or wait longer?

UPDATE: Depending on when you downloaded Sixteen Nine, you may or may not experience this problem. Check the file date/time of style.css

Anyone who downloaded Sixteen Nine in the first 19 days after its release on 8/7 will continue to experience this problem. And since the update was silently released and not assigned a new version number, users will not know that the problem was fixed.

Which brings up another point... whenever ANY change is made to a theme, no matter how small, the version should be incremented. And there should be a changelog to document those changes.
