ParticipantApparently my website has been hacked. My blog page has been 301 redirected to some spam site. My hosting company said it's a coding issue and they will not help. I have never dealt with anything like this and I have NO IDEA what to do.
Has anyone ever had this happen before? I don't even know where to go to begin fixing this problem.

MemberHi Christina,
I'm sorry that's happened. I recommend having http://sucuri.net/ clean up your site for you. They will clean up your site, and also monitor it for a year.

ParticipantThanks Angie! They look great, unfortunately I don't have that much money in my budget right now. I've been trying to find a way to clean it up myself, but haven't found anything help with that so far.

MemberIf you haven't, add your Site to Google Webmaster Tools. GMT will actually show you the code that is doing the redirect if it has been spotted..
It is normally a snippet of javascipt in your index.php
If you let us know your url (not as a full link just domain dot com ) some people can take look and see where the redirect is happening
Alternatively go to a backup a few days or weeks ago.
Install WordFence.
Make sure your site is up to date with WP versions and plugins.

ParticipantVery helpful, thank you! I didn't know that about Google Webmaster, checking it out now. I did check both htaccess and index and there was nothing extra there. Just installed WordFence, and the scan came back clean.
So, I deleted the menu links that were being redirected. And then I added them back to see what would happen, and they're no longer being redirected. Obviously, I have a lot to learn about this stuff, but I just can't make any sense of that. Do you think the site is safe? Do you think it was a problem with the host and not my site after all?

MemberIt looks like something 'injected' the redirects into your menu links, so by replacing them that has fixed it.
I doubt very much it is your hosts issue, it is software so not anything that they can control.
It doesn't mean it can't happen again, if there is a security hole in your theme or one of your plugins, but if you are up to date and have WordFence running you have done almost as much as you can to protect yourself.
