When doing a SEO analysis on

    Jack’s Home Page

it turns out Simple Social Icons uses the title tag <title ... > in a location and in a way that is not appropriate.
There should only be one title tag on a page and it should be in the <head> area.

If I am incorrect please let me know.

This question was raised on the Simple Social Icons plugin page. See the response there which states the titles are there for accessibility - https://wordpress.org/support/topic/removing-title-tag-from-icon-svgs/.

    Thanks, Anita
I did use the same SEO checker and even though the location where these title tags are used (not in the header) is legal, but could be confusing to ... anyone (bots). it would a very easy change.

If you want them changed you would need to ask them on the plugin page how to do that.

Dear all, I just incurred the same problem today. I wanted to ask on the plugin page but while I can enter my wordpress account, i cannot enter the wordpress.org support pages, it just won't let me login. So, that aside...

has anyone found a solution for that?

Or can we blissfully ignore dear Neil's warnings?
    Thanks,
    Letizia

@bpg WordPress.com and WordPress.org require two different user id and passwords. Make sure you have signed up with .ORG. If not, you will need to register on that website as well. They are two completely different websites. Once you do, you can post on the plugin page.

Anita, thanks, but I know this, and I am signed in in wordpress.org, only I can get access only to my dashboard, not to the support area...
    It's very frustrating...

In the link Anita added above, Nick says, “ It sounds like the tool may be flagging these title tags without cause. I would not expect them to negatively affect SEO.”
