Anyone know if there's a way to utilize the Simple Social Icons plugin, but have the links open in a new browser window/tab?

I tried just adding <target="_blank"> after the link in the widget fields, no dice.

I figure I could maybe go in and start hacking the plugin, but don't really want as then it will have to be changed on every update.
