I'm using the genesis featured posts widget to display 10 articles in list view drawn from various categories on my home page. For each post within the list I wish to show its associated categories. Any pointers on how to achieve this greatly appreciated.

You can only use the settings included in the widget otherwise you can create you own WP_Query and custom loop. http://codex.wordpress.org/Class_Reference/WP_Query
