I have a plugin generating a form. The form is called by shortcode. The site will be designed so that visitors primarily enter through a search. I want to hand craft the search results page via the excerpt. Specifically, in the excerpt I want to include the shortcode to call the form and then put some text and html buttons below it that lead to the full page/posts. However, I cannot get the shortcode to execute when I put it in the excerpt.

How do I get shortcode to execute in an excerpt. Is there a better way to do this?
