Okay...I'm just about ready to give up on Scribble and move on. I like the theme and have spent a LOT of time customizing it. But I keep running into problems that only the Scribble theme seems to have.
Today's issue is with the Jetpack Gallery Carousel. It doesn't work with the SCribble theme. I have other Studiopress themes installed on other sites and it works fine. It will not work on the site I have with Scribble. I installed a different SP theme on that site and it worked. So its not plugins or anything specific about that site....except Scribble.
I don't absolutely NEED the Jetpack carousel. But like I said, this isn't the only buggy thing I've dealt with Scribble. But before I move to another theme, does anyone have any ideas why Scribble is causing the issue?? To see the bug in action, you can click below.
When you get to the page, you can see that Jetpack made the mosaic thumbnails I requested. But when you click on one of those thumbnails, instead of a carousel loading, the image opens in a separate page.
BUT HERE IS WHERE IT GETS REALLY WEIRD.....the carousel works in PREVIEW MODE. Its only when I PUBLISH the post that it stops working.
Argh

I am seeing an error within the scroll.js file on line 19 located at scribble/js/scroll.js
This could be indirectly causing problems with the carousel code.
June 6, 2014 at 4:04 pm #108396rfmeierMemberSecond my last post. It doesn't even look like the Jetpack carousel code is being initialized.
June 6, 2014 at 4:18 pm #108400KaryMemberJust for grins, I put the exact same post on another blog (the site is a WPMU site). The only difference is the theme. All plugins installed are "network installed" so it isn't a plugin issue.

so this seems to be 100% a Scribble bug.
June 6, 2014 at 4:20 pm #108401KaryMemberYes Ryan....the bug you found in the scribble.js is another bug that's been around since a WordPress version about 3-4 updates ago. Like I said...I'm about to give up on the theme.
June 6, 2014 at 4:50 pm #108406KaryMemberI just saw that Scribble made a minor update so I'm going to try and see if that resolves anything. If anyone looks at the site in the next little while, it will be in maintenance mode until I get all the pieces knitted back together.
AGH! No...didn't fix it the issue. And now I've got an f'ed up site that needs to get sewn back together. I have 2 choices...go to the trouble of getting my custom CSS styles and widgets all back in a row. Or just move on.
I believe it is time to move on down the road and choose another theme. Very tired of Scribble.
Fair-the-well Scribble theme. You were fun while you lasted.
