Not quite sure it this is the right place to post, but this is a request to change the framework core in a future release, to improve the accessibility of the framework.

Could it be possible to remove all title attributes from links and images? Some screen readers don't handle them very well.

Some functions like genesis_post_title_output have filters, but not all of them, like genesis_do_post_format_image. So it's quite a job to remove all title attributes using a child theme. Remove existing / add new functions only to get rid of the title="%s" seems not an efficient way to build an accessible child theme.

Title attributes are also more and more removed from links and image in WordPress core.

Maybe Genesis could follow the WordPress core trend and remove all titles from links and images?

    Kind regards,
    Rian Rietveld

In the meantime, try this WP-Accessibility Plugin. I think this might help you. Someone else has inquired about accessibility and I too have a need for that for a website I am doing that's government related.

    Hi Anitac,
Yes, WP-Accessibility Plugin is a very good plugin, but it won't address the Genesis code, only the WordPress core code.
At the moment I'm writing my own plugin, something like WP-Accessibility Plugin, but then especially for Genesis. And while writing this I found that Genesis adds a lot of extra code with a title tag overruling the WordPress code.

Oh okay. I'd be interested in your plugin when it's finished. Can you send me your email address using the Contact on my site?
